Höhlich & Schmotz, architects from Burgdorf, drew up the plans for the new head office of Dirk Rossmann GmbH in Burgwedel, and it was completed in the Spring of 2011. From an architectural point of view, the energy-efficient building fairly attracts people’s attention, both inside and out. The characteristic façade is not the only part that exudes friendliness, transparency and brightness: it’s the “transparent structures” on the interior that really stand out from the rest - with partial glazing of the walls in the corridors, open kitchenettes with loggias in the façade, and also a landscaped inner courtyard, with greenery and outdoor seating.
The workforce of about 600, from central administration and logistics, moved into the 10,000sq m new building in March 2011, their offices comprising some 5,000sq m. Modern workstations in single, double and team offices are to be found on the new premises, which they share with generously proportioned conference and meeting rooms, as well as a prestigious lecture hall for 180 guests.
Before the removal process, Facility Management at the corporate group seized their chance to create purity of variety as far as the furnishing was concerned. What they were looking for was modular, functional and timelessly modern system furniture, which at the same time would contribute to optimising work processes. Today, the 450 admin staff are working in offices all fitted out with desks from WINI’s WINEA PRO system, and WINEA KUBUS pedestals and cabinets – a pleasing picture of harmony. Ergonomically built and height-adjustable, the desks have worktop depths of 90 cm and practical organisation and cable management options, giving the users all the convenience they could wish for.
