According to the plans of the Munich architect Nickl Bausback and after two years planning and building period the new reception building of the Max-Planck institut for ornithology in sea grasslands has been finished in summer 2008. The two storey high "house 0" is designed as a multipurpose building and today it contains next to the reception of the institut, the in-box room, the quaratine station as well as the offices of the factory.
The glass facade of the building that provides light and a friendly atmosphere and shows outwards transparence, gets with the tree trunk facade in the front an unique, striking three-dimensional character - as a visual association of construction and nature.
